The U520-31N supports a single 8K display or dual 4K displays at 60 Hz. Though both connected devices must support USB4 40Gbps for the cable to reach its full potential, the U520-31N is backward compatible with USB 3.x, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3 devices. It connects two USB-C devices, including MacBooks, Chromebooks, Windows laptops, smartphones, external hard drives, tablets, docking stations and wall chargers. It is compatible with all USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 devices, enabling use in existing installations while preparing for future upgrades. The U520-31N supports Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 charging of the connected PD Charging-compliant device. It carries power output up to 20V 5A (100W), which is sufficient for fast-charging and powering your MacBook or other mobile device. Unlike traditional USB cables that connect in only one direction, the reversible USB-C male connectors plug into a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port in either direction for an instant connection every time.
